Detailed Itinerary & Facts
PLACE 1.
THE HISTORIC CENTER
Walk through the heart of Quito’s history. We will explore the Independence Plaza (Plaza Grande), surrounded by the Presidential Palace and the Cathedral. Experience the golden splendor of the Church of the Compañía de Jesús and the architectural sobriety of San Francisco, learning about the "Quito School" of art that defined the Spanish colonial era.
PLACE 2.
GUAYASAMIN MUSEUM: THE CHAPEL OF MAN
Visit the home and masterpiece of Oswaldo Guayasamin, Ecuador’s most influential artist. At the "Capilla del Hombre" (Chapel of Man), you will witness powerful artworks that pay tribute to the resilience and history of the Latin American people, housed in a stunning architectural monument.
PLACE 3.
EL PANECILLO
We begin at the top of El Panecillo hill, where the iconic aluminum winged Virgin stands guard over Quito. From this natural viewpoint, you will enjoy a 360-degree panorama of the colonial "Old Town" and the modern northern districts, framed by the majestic peaks of the Andes.
PLACE 4.
THE MIDDLE OF THE WORLD
Stand in both hemispheres at once. We visit the Middle of the World City and the Intiñan Site Museum, where you will engage in interactive scientific experiments—such as balancing an egg on a nail—to see the unique physical forces of the Equator line in action.
PLACE 5.
TELEFÉRICO DE QUITO (CABLE CAR)
Ascend the slopes of the Pichincha Volcano on one of the highest aerial lifts in the world. As you rise over 4,000 meters (13,000 ft) above sea level, you will witness the urban sprawl of Quito shrinking below you, framed by the majestic "Avenue of Volcanoes." Once at the top (Cruz Loma), you can enjoy a peaceful walk along high-altitude Andean trails, capture breathtaking photos of the surrounding peaks, or simply breathe in the crisp mountain air. It is the ultimate spot to appreciate the dramatic geography that makes the Ecuadorian capital so unique.
PLACE 6.
CAROLINA PARK & BOTANIC GARDEN
Located in the heart of the city’s modern district, La Carolina Park is more than just a green space; it is the center of Quito's daily life. Inside, we visit the Quito Botanic Garden, a world-class sanctuary dedicated to Ecuador’s immense biodiversity. You’ll explore specialized glasshouses featuring thousands of native orchids—Ecuador’s floral crown jewel—alongside medicinal plants, high-altitude wetlands (páramo), and an authentic cloud forest ecosystem. This stop offers a serene and educational escape, showcasing the exotic flora of the Andes in a beautifully curated setting.
